2022 Youth Scholarships and Teaching Grants Program Winners

Published June 17, 2022

Nearly $300,000 in scholarships and grants awarded to date.

Kinecta is proud to announce the winners of its 2022 Youth Scholarships and Teaching Grants program. After receiving 106 scholarship and 21 teaching grant applications, eight $2,000 scholarships were awarded to help full-time students make their higher education dreams a reality, and six grants up to $2,000 were given to outstanding teachers to help them bolster instruction and classroom projects.

This was also the second year Kinecta Executives provided a $5,000 scholarship to help a child of a Kinecta employee with tuition expenses. The company’s inaugural REDCAP scholarship was created to reflect Kinecta’s core values (Resourceful, Ethical, Dependable, Caring, Accountable, Passionate).

“It’s an honor to recognize and reward outstanding students and teachers in our communities,” said Latrice McGlothin, Executive Director, Kinecta Community Foundation. “The last two years have been challenging for educators and students, and the great number of applications received this year is an inspiration. At Kinecta, we are committed to helping students reach their full potential and teachers enhance their classroom offerings. Congratulations to all winners!”

Eligible 2022 Youth Scholarships and Teaching Grants program students submitted a written essay on how their family background affected the way they see the world and the essay topic for REDCAP applicants was who in their life has influenced them the most and why. Winners were chosen by the Scholarship Program Selection Committee composed of 14 Kinecta employees. Applications were scored based on the essay, community involvement, GPA, awards and achievements, and extracurricular activities. The teachers’ grants were awarded based on educational program vision, the creativity of the project, and the number of students impacted.

Over the past 17 years, Kinecta has awarded nearly $300,000 to help 119 students achieve a higher education and 36 teachers fund classroom projects through its Youth Scholarships and Teaching Grants program.
