Adopt My Block

Cynthia P. nominated Dan M. and Adopt my Block. Here’s what Cynthia submitted, “Adopt my Block is a Non-Profit Rescue providing support for homeless pet parents, providing essentials for outdoor dogs and fostering the ones who need it most.”

Started in 2019, AMB, has fostered dozens of dogs in need and has successfully nursed many that were wounded back to their full abilities and happiness.

Akoma

Sam S. nominated Donna J. and AKOMA. Here’s what Sam submitted, “Donna M. Jones is the Scholarship Chairwomen and Treasurer for AKOMA which since 1996, has awarded 145 scholarships to college-bound students.”

AKOMA is Rochester’s African American Women’s Gospel Choir whose West African Akan name means patience, endurance, consistency, and faithfulness. AKOMA’s adinkra symbol, the heart, indicates compassion, tenderness, and charity.

Autobahn Soccer Club

Kiara B. nominated Alex F. and the Autobahn Soccer Club. Here’s what Kiara submitted, “Alec goes above and beyond to make the kids on the Autobahn team feel comfortable while developing their skills. I can see how devoted Alec is to his role and it makes me so glad that I chose to be a part of the Autobahn family. Alec is a great mentor and role model to his community.”

Autobahn SC (Pacific Coast SC) strives to create an environment that develops youth players through their progression system.  Autobahn SC gives each player an opportunity for growth and an opportunity to display their talents and potential.

Bullies and Buddies

David F. nominated Jennifer R. and Bullies and Buddies. Here’s what David submitted, “Jennifer Rosen is the founder of Bullies and Buddies which is a 501(c)(3) whose goal is to find a forever home for each dog that she rescues. Each week she holds an adoption even at the Rock and Brews in Redondo Beach walking distance from our Redondo Beach office.”

Bullies and Buddies are dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and finding loving homes for bullies and other buddy breeds in Southern California.

For Goodness Cakes

Katie J. nominated Jo P. and For Goodness Cakes. Here’s what Katie submitted, “The biggest heart. A genuine joy. A passion for what she does. These are the reasons why I nominate Jo. As the LA County Chapter Lead, Jo always goes above and beyond to help partner organizations to make sure EVERY kid has a birthday to remember! She is an inspiration.”

For Goodness Cakes mission is to give individual youth at least one special moment that is about them. By providing a child a treat made especially for them, it gives them some much needed time to not feel the increasing pressure of their socioeconomic situation, but rather help nurture optimism and confidence at a critical age.

Inglewood Community Table

Darika B. nominated Susan J. and the Inglewood Community Table. Here’s what Darika submitted, “I wanted to nominate someone as passionate about helping the homeless as I. She is a wonderful caregiver that gives her last. She has a smile of gold and is very supportive.”

King Harbor Youth Foundation is a non-profit created to promote youth sailing in Southern California. Founded in 1982 by King Harbor Yacht Club members, who foresaw the Club's future in the development of young sailing enthusiasts.

Living with MS on the Central Coast

Tammy S. nominated Michael J. and Living with MS on the Central Coast. Here’s what Tammy submitted, “Mike has been with Kinecta 46 years and is a Raytheon retiree who took action and founded LMSCC. He works tirelessly to help others living with MS and is an inspiration to all of us. Mr. Jack has a heart of Gold!”

Living with MS on the Central Coast is a private non-profit organization, providing resources, programs, and activities for people with Multiple Sclerosis who reside in the Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, and Ventura Counties of California.

Noah’s Bark

Denise T. nominated Shelly G. and Noah’s Bark. Here’s what Denise submitted, “I would like to nominate Shelly Gomez from Noah’s Bark for the passion she has for our animals. I have known Shelly for over 10 years, the love she shows for these animals is so amazing. Thank you, Shelly, for always going above and beyond to help our furry friends.”

Noah's Bark is an all-volunteer nonprofit dog rescue based in Los Angeles' South Bay. They rescue the most broken, sick, and pitiful dogs from high-kill shelters, the ones who have little to no chance of being adopted by the public.

North Valley Caring Services

Artur S. nominated Katie J. and North Valley Caring Services. Here’s what Artur submitted, “This organization has created homes and feed millions of low income and homeless individuals for over 25 years. They have saved so many lives off the streets. My team and I will be partnering with them for future events to save lives with them.”

NVCS is a nonprofit organization serving the residents in the Northeast San Fernando Valley area of Los Angeles. North Valley Caring Services has grown to become the largest single-site food distribution center in the San Fernando Valley, offering multi-pronged interventions to tackle homelessness, poverty, and food insecurity in our community.

Rotary Club of Carson Gardena Dominguez

Sheri R. nominated Glenn M. and the Rotary Club of Carson Gardena Dominguez. Here’s what Sheri submitted, “This is the 30th year of the Rotary Club of Carson Gardena Dominguez sponsorship of Operation Gobble with the goal of providing 500 Thanksgiving meal boxes for needy families.  Families are identified through participation with LAUSD, the City of Gardena and Harbor Regional Center.”

Stopping Cry’s

The Community Hot Rod Project

The Community Hot Rod Project is an organization that offers a free program to teach the youth and young at heart how to build, restore, and fabricate classic cars and off-road race vehicles in Santa Barbara. The program promotes a positive environment that improves both personal and community etiquette that is seriously missing in our community and world today. The Community Hot Rod Project offers community outreach events to help those in need at no charge throughout the year on top of their day-to-day operations.

The Utopian Society Project

Cristian F. nominated Gabriela F. and The Utopian Society Project. Here’s what Cristian submitted, “I want to nominate my wife  because she is truly making a difference in our community through Random Acts of Kindness, public safety education and community involvement.”

The Utopian Society Project supports initiatives and organizations that raise awareness about public safety. They also promote programs that develop positive interactions between law enforcement and local residents to work together and seek solutions for the issues that affect the community.
