Manhattan Beach, Calif., November 13, 2011 – Nix Financial and Kinecta Federal Credit Union hosted the 38th Annual Holiday Food Drive on Sunday, November 13 at Jesse Owens Park, 9651 S. Western Ave., Los Angeles. Employees from the Manhattan Beach-based financial organization distributed bags of food and $65 Ralphs/Food 4 Less gift certificates to nearly 1,200 families.
Each year, more than 40 community organizations and churches from around Southern California partner with Nix and Kinecta to select recipients for the food drive. Donations made by Nix and Kinecta members and customers helped raise thousands of dollars for the event. Sponsoring partners include MoneyGram, Mahatma Rice, Mrs. Cubbison’s, Ralphs/Food 4 Less, and Nestle. “Sweet” Alice Harris, Executive Director of the Parents of Watts non-profit organization, and WNBA superstar Tina Thompson of the Los Angeles Sparks also participated in the distribution.
