Kinecta Aided Nearly 1,500 Families During its 52nd Annual Food Drive
MANHATTAN BEACH, CA (November 26, 2025) With rising costs and reduced assistance benefits, many families are facing an uncertain Thanksgiving holiday. To ensure families in need have a happy holiday, Kinecta Federal Credit Union was joined by Rep. Maxine Waters on Sunday, November 23, 2025, to distribute holiday meals. The 52nd annual holiday food drive aided nearly 1,500 families at distribution events in Southern California and Rochester, New York.
During the fundraiser, more than $70,000 was raised through donations from vendors, employees, and members. Kinecta then partnered with over 40 community-based organizations throughout Los Angeles County, Santa Barbara County, Orange County and Rochester, New York, to select families. Each family received a bag of traditional Thanksgiving food items, such as pasta, green beans, corn, cranberry sauce, and stuffing mix, along with a $50 grocery store gift card to help complete their holiday meal.
"For more than 50 years Kinecta, along with vendors, staff, members, families and friends, have raised money to ensure that the most vulnerable in our communities are able to have a Thanksgiving meal,” said Kinecta Community Foundation Executive Director Latrice McGlothin. “Thanks to the incredible generosity of donors in Southern California and Rochester, NY, we are able to extend this tradition of care across regions. With more than 2 million people in Los Angeles County facing food insecurity, this event helps meet the need for some this holiday season. Together, we are making a meaningful difference.”
