Fraud Scams

Watch Out for Impersonation Scams

Be cautious of impersonation attempts by individuals pretending to be Kinecta employees. These impostors may contact you via phone, text or email. They may claim that there is a security issue with your account and an urgent action is required to protect your assets. They will request sensitive details, including your one-time PIN or security code.

Kinecta will never call, text or email you to ask for confidential, personal information such as your one-time passcode, verification code, online banking log in or password. Never disclose this information to unsolicited callers or senders. If you have doubts about the legitimacy of a caller, hang up immediately and contact us directly.

Common Scams

Scammers are always coming up with new ways to trick people. However, you can protect yourself if you know how to avoid their tricks. Explore the common scams below to learn how you can stay safe:

Protect Yourself from Scams

  • Never share your personal or account information (including one-time codes). This information can be used to withdraw money or access your accounts.
  • Verify all phone numbers and emails are legitimate before proceeding. Never click a link in a text message or email from someone you don’t know.
  • Beware of anyone pressuring you to act urgently. Scammers use urgency to get you to send money without thinking it through.
  • Only send money to people you know and trust. If you receive unsolicited payment requests from a business you believe to be legitimate, verify their phone number and call the business directly.
