Kinecta Continues to Empower Young Adults with Interactive Financial Education Workshops

CAMS Presentation
Published June 28, 2022

Over 600 students expanded their knowledge of personal finance.

Committed to helping our youth succeed by providing training and information on healthy financial habits, Kinecta celebrated Financial Empowerment Month (April) by presenting interactive financial education workshops to over 600 students hailing from schools and nonprofit organizations.

“Some of the reasons why young adults give up on attending college are attributed to lack of information or guidance they are provided regarding personal finance topics,” said Latrice McGlothin, Executive Director, Kinecta Community Foundation. “At Kinecta, we are committed to helping youth succeed. We offer brief, interactive educational modules to help individuals build financial knowledge for growth and success.”

Students from California Academy of Mathematics and Science (CAMS), Da Vinci RISE High School, Green Dot Public Schools and Carnegie STEAM Academy & Medical Magnet Middle School, and young adults from Al Wooten Jr. Youth Center and GRYD Foundation organizations received financial information on topics such as budgeting, credit, and developing healthy financial habits through Kinecta’s platform.

In addition, Kinecta partnered with LA Galaxy soccer player, Cameron Dunbar, to help encourage young adults to save. Hawthorne High School, El Segundo High School, Lawndale High School and Leuzinger High School took part in the #CameronChallenge and were invited by Kinecta to attend the LA Galaxy game at Dignity Health Sports Park on April 23.
